Reliability: How well a computer-related component performs according to specs

Integrity: How correct is data?

 

1.2 SECURITY

Security: Protecting IT systems from unauthorized users

 

1.3 PRIVACY AND ANONYMITY

Privacy: Controlling "our" data

Anonymity: Using a fake username or identity to hide your personal information

 

1.4 INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Intellectual property: “creations of the mind”

 

1.5 AUTHENTICITY

Authenticity: User proving their identity to gain access to a computer system

 

1.6 DIGITAL DIVIDE & EQUALITY OF ACCESS

Digital Divide: The socioeconomic and other disparities between those people who have opportunities & skills enabling them to benefit from digital resources and those who do not have these opportunities or skills

Equality of Access: The concept that all persons should have equal rights of access to anything they desire.

Surveillance: Using IT to monitor people, with or without their permission

Globalization: Reduction in cultural, political, economic boundaries due to IT, mostly the internet.

Cultural Diversity: more contact/communication causing cultural homogeneity(similarity)

Policies: Rules designed to control how people use IT

Standards & Protocols: technical rules that designers of hardware and software should follow

People & Machines: The way that humans interact with IT (and its system)

 

1.12 DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP

Digital Citizenship: “being a good citizen in a digital world”
